Emsella gave my Mom her confidence back!My mom has been dealing with incontinence for years, and it really started affecting her daily life. She was constantly worried about accidents, always looking for the nearest restroom, and even avoiding social outings because of it. We tried different treatments, but nothing really worked—until we found Emsella. At first, she was skeptical. The idea of just sitting in a chair and letting it do the work seemed too good to be true. But after a few sessions, she started noticing real improvements. More importantly, she regained her confidence and independence. Now, she can go out without worry and enjoy her life the way she used to.If you or someone you love is struggling with incontinence, I can’t recommend Emsella enough. It’s a simple, non-invasive solution that truly works—and seeing my mom feel like herself again has been the best part of all.100% worth the investment and it is a life changing experience!!!!

What Is EMSELLA?

EMSELLA is a Health Canada–licensed medical device developed by BTL. It is designed to stimulate the neuromuscular tissue of the pelvic floor and improve urinary incontinence in women and men.

Unlike internal pelvic-floor devices, treatment is delivered through a specialized chair while you remain fully clothed.

How Does EMSELLA Work?

Emsella delivers focused electromagnetic energy that penetrates deep into the pelvic floor, inducing thousands of supramaximal muscle contractions during each session. A single 28-minute treatment generates approximately 11,000 pelvic floor contractions, the equivalent of performing thousands of Kegel exercises. These contractions help activate muscles that may be difficult to engage effectively through voluntary Kegel exercises alone.

What Happens During Treatment?

You sit fully clothed in the centre of the EMSELLA chair. The treatment intensity is gradually adjusted until you feel strong but tolerable pelvic-floor contractions.

Most clients describe rhythmic tightening, tapping or tingling sensations. Each session takes approximately 28 minutes, and no internal examination, numbing or anesthesia is required.

When Will I Notice an Improvement?

Some clients notice changes during their initial treatment series, while others improve more gradually. Pelvic-floor strength and bladder-control symptoms may continue to change after completing all 6 sessions.

Results depend on the type and cause of incontinence, symptom severity, medical history and completion of the recommended protocol.

EMSELLA for Women and Men

Women

EMSELLA may help women experiencing leakage related to pelvic-floor weakness, aging, menopause or pregnancy and childbirth. Postpartum treatment should begin only after appropriate medical clearance.

Men

EMSELLA may help selected men with urinary leakage or pelvic-floor weakness, including some clients recovering from prostate treatment. A physician should assess new, persistent or unexplained urinary symptoms.

FAQ

Everything you need to know.

Most clients find it comfortable. You will feel tingling and strong pelvic-floor contractions, but treatment intensity can be adjusted.

Yes. You sit on the EMSELLA chair fully clothed throughout the 28-minute treatment.

EMSELLA can generate strong pelvic-floor contractions, but continued pelvic-floor exercises may help maintain results. Correct technique is important, and pelvic-floor physiotherapy may still be beneficial.

Not necessarily. Physiotherapy can assess coordination, tension, breathing, prolapse, pain and movement patterns that EMSELLA does not evaluate. The two approaches may be complementary.

It may help strengthen the muscles involved in bladder support and improve leakage associated with coughing, sneezing, laughing or physical activity.

Some studies report improvement in urge and mixed incontinence. However, urinary urgency can have several causes and may require medical assessment.

Yes. EMSELLA is Health Canada licensed for urinary incontinence in both men and women.

Potentially, after you have healed and received medical clearance. Timing varies according to the type of delivery, complications and individual recovery.

A copper or metal-containing IUD may affect eligibility. Disclose the exact device to your provider before treatment.

Yes. A consultation helps determine whether pelvic-floor weakness is likely contributing to your symptoms and whether EMSELLA is appropriate.
