RF Microneedling in West Vancouver

RF Microneedling

RF Microneedling — treatment
Collagen & Lifting — in clinic

RF Microneedling combines controlled microneedling with radiofrequency energy to improve acne scars, enlarged-looking pores, fine lines, uneven texture and mild skin laxity. The needles create precise microchannels while delivering heat at selected depths beneath the skin.

This combined mechanical and thermal stimulation initiates collagen and elastin remodelling, creating progressive improvement in skin texture, firmness and overall quality.

What patients say about RF Microneedling.

★★★★★
I did RF micro needling with Nancy and she was amazing! I was quite nervous at the start of the session and Nancy took the time to get me settled and she was incredibly thoughtful and diligent throughout the session and checking that I was ok. I would highly recommend getting micro needling or any other session done with Nancy.

What is RF Microneedling?

RF microneedling uses insulated or non-insulated needles, depending on the device and treatment protocol, to enter the skin at controlled depths. Radiofrequency energy is then delivered through the needles to create selected areas of heat within the tissue.

This allows the provider to customize both the mechanical needle depth and thermal energy according to the concern and treatment area.

How RF Microneedling Works?

The microchannels initiate a wound-healing response, while radiofrequency heat creates an additional stimulus for collagen contraction and remodelling.

Over the following weeks and months, fibroblast activity supports the formation and reorganization of collagen and elastin. This may improve depressed scars, uneven texture, fine lines and mild skin laxity.

What to Expect During Treatment

Your appointment begins with photography, cleansing and skin preparation. Topical anesthetic is normally applied for approximately 45–60 minutes before treatment.

Once the skin is numb, the device is placed systematically across the selected areas. Clients may experience pressure, warmth, vibration, prickling or brief sharper sensations around bony and sensitive areas. A complete appointment takes approximately 120 minutes, including numbing and aftercare.

Recovery and Results

Redness, warmth and swelling are expected immediately afterward. Pinpoint bleeding or tiny crusts may also occur. During healing, the skin may feel dry, rough, tight or sensitive.

Most visible effects improve within approximately three to five days, although sensitivity may continue longer. Initial results may appear within several weeks, while collagen remodelling continues over approximately three to six months.

Treatment FAQ

About RF Microneedling.

Yes. Unlike some laser treatments, RF Microneedling is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including darker skin tones. The insulated needles deliver energy below the surface, minimizing the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Clients with pacemakers, metal implants in the treatment area, active skin infections, pregnancy, breastfeeding, recent isotretinoin use (within 6 months), active skin cancer, history of keloid scarring, or certain blood clotting disorders should not receive this treatment. A thorough consultation will determine if RF Microneedling is right for you.

Yes. RF Microneedling is effective on the face, neck, décolletage, arms, abdomen, thighs, and other areas. It's particularly popular for treating stretch marks and loose skin on the body.

These are all brand names for RF microneedling devices. They use the same general technology (microneedling with radiofrequency) but differ in specific features like needle configuration, energy delivery, and depth settings. The results are comparable across devices when used by skilled providers.

Traditional microneedling relies on controlled mechanical injury. RF microneedling adds heat within the tissue and has different benefits, costs, downtime and risks.

Topical anesthetic helps reduce discomfort. Clients may still experience warmth, pressure, prickling or brief sharper sensations.

It can improve selected atrophic scars but will not completely remove them. Deep or tethered scars may require combination treatment.

Elective RF microneedling is generally postponed during pregnancy.
